Notes

cm meeting note:

Status:

daisy: currently working on cm home tool. adding more data model, ifc, dao. Will work in JSF since it's already started with JSF.

duffy: looked at ajax. reviewed dojo..etc.
1. can we use UI framework other than jsf?
2. how to do jsf and ajax. stick dojo in jsf.
read articles about ajax accessibility issue with screen readers. huge mess.
fall back suggesgted by article: create non-ajax UI that you can fall back on.
Duffy will take cm browser, make it a usable admin tool, and putting helper piece in.

daisy: dojo doens't work well with IE/safari. may not be a good time for ajax.
Marc agreed to modify mockup to not do ajaxy stuff.

Daisy: (for that one page in site info) sakai uses 'term' and cm uses 'academic session'.
Josh has mapped some of those mistmatched object. Use legacy object if you have to. Try to keep hackish stuff together so we can get easily replace them in the future.

Daphne: Running into issues with design of roster. It will have SIS driving seciton memeberships and still allows users to manualy create sections and users groups, hitting road blockers. There is a new draft of requirements. we don't fullyunderstand the issues here , stay tuned till next week.

Josh: New section info code is in trunk , for 2.4. some methods are deprecated, try not to use them.

Josh on gradebook status: currently working on comments feature. due end of month. after that will look into getting cm data into gradebook.
daphne: no cm related stuff are in gb yet.
josh: it's difficult in gradebook to display enrollment status, multiple sections per site...etc
daphne: some of these info will show up in roster.

daisy: how to show SIS sections as well as ad-hoc groups in home tool?
j: take a look at section info's decorated Group object. daisy will talk to josh offline.
Josh: Is CM home tool really important? should we do it last?

Discussion on conference schedule.
josh has a session on "bridge sakai and SIS" . we could demo section info, home tool.
daphne: don't rely on having working tools, everything is still up in the air, we can show designs if the tools are not working.

Josh wantend to see if his session can be scheduled back to back with Linda's session on "oracle academic enterprise initiative".

marc asked for comments on his requirements posted on Confluence.
daphne: too much details for people to take in, maybe summarize into fewer bullets.
josh will update the roadmap for 2.4
