Planned New Features
- Editor Integration (SAK-11257) - Add a button within the Rich Text Editor to find and insert a citation into the text currently being edited (ala Twin Peaks)
- RIS File Import (SAK-11256) - Support importing of citations in the RIS file format from reference management tools such as RefWorks, Endnote, and Zotero
- Citation List Sorting (SAK-11248) - Add the ability to sort citation lists by author, title, or date
- Configuration Improvements (SAK-10358, already in post-2.4) - The XML files used to configure the Citations Helper have been moved into Content Hosting, and now reside in the Resources area of a site designated by the Sakai administrator - previously, these files were housed in the Tomcat directory space. In addition, a configuration cache has been introduced. The benefits of these changes include:
- The Citations Helper configuration can be changed dynamically.
- All changes are seen "cluster-wide".
- The Sakai administrator can delegate the configuration efforts by authorizing other Sakai users to update the configuration.
- Configuration resource and processing overhead is reduced.
