The Citations Helper is a feature of the Resources Tool that allows users to search licensed library databases as well as create and manage both citations and persistent links to articles and other online items. This helper leverages existing library technology infrastructure including metasearch tools and OpenURL to deliver this functionality, while also providing integration between Sakai and Google Scholar as an alternative approach for resource discovery.

The Sakaibrary project will continue to develop Citations and Citations Helper for Sakai 2.5. Plans include:

*Ability to import citations from other tools such as RefWorks and Endnote
*Improve access to full-text through SFX
*Develop citation list sorting mechanism
*Create embedded citation lists from within the Rich Text Editor (similar to Twin Peaks)
