Notes:
The searchable fields seem to correspond to the Dublin Core metadata elements.

Only items 1 through 5 are used in the SingleSearch user interface. This may imply something about the level of success when referencing fields 6 through 16 (observationally, fields 6 through 16 are often missing in the returned search results).

Logical Operators:

AND, OR, NOT, NEAR, WITHIN, ANDNOT, XOR

Notes:
We've only had obvious success with AND, OR, and NOT.

Phrases:

Phrases can be quoted: "Bob Smith". The quote character can be escaped using a backslash.

Grouping:

Items can be grouped with parenthesis: (:TITLE dogs AND :CREATOR smith) OR (:CREATOR jones)
