Brainstorm of test areas

  • Gradebook Setup
    • Points vs percentage
    • Categories & Weighting
  • Entering grades
    • Ensure calculations are correct
    • Cum calcs
  • Student view
  • UI Review for adherence to spec
  • Import functionality
  • Export functionality (ensure it's export correct info)
********GB Import*********
  • non-csv file extension - Got appropriate erro: The file "Hostelbookers - Booking Ref 1569-1040195.pdf" you are trying to import is not in the expected format. Please use the Download Spreadsheet Template link to export the file and try again.

ADD ITEM

  • Added item was successful
  • New Items imported are released to students/ not included in grade. Log reflects correctly (both should be true)
  • Error Handling
    • No points specified in column [] : Gives appropriate error: The following new gradebook items in the spreadsheet you are attempting to import has a missing or invalid points possible value: HW4 To correct, in the spreadsheet template after the assignment title add a space and the points possible in square ([]) brakets (ex: assign 1 100) and try again.
    • No title: student item grades shows in verify grade report view, but user gets message that this is no change due to no difference
    • Grades not numerically based in SS: Appropriate error message displayed: At least one gradebook item in your upload has a non-numeric score. This gradebook does not currently support non-numeric scores.
  • Pts vs %: no difference. % base grades are still entered as whole #'s (ie, to give 77%, you enter in 77 in the SS)
  • Affect on log when no grade is entered: No log entry.

EXISTING ITEMS

  • Was able to update scores ok. Log reflects this correctly.
  • Scores are imported correct when > 2 decimals. Truncated in UI
  • Grade missing: Sets value to null
  • Ensure that the points possible aren't required: pass, but code needs to trim extra spaces
  • Ensure specific column order isn't specified: pass

Verify Grade Report

  • Displays accurate information from SS
  • Summary information is not corret: for instance, there are 5 assignments, 2 students and the app is showing 4 assignments, 1 student.
  • Extra column is displaying. Likely result of removing cumm score
  • back button works.
  • Error Handling
    • Student missing from File: Imports appropriate data w/o affect on others existing data
    • Name missing from Student Name column - Imports fine
    • Extra student in File: appropriate error message appears
    • Import with no score change gives appropriate status message: There was no difference found between the imported scores and the current gradebook so no changes made
  • On Grade verification screen, clicking OK, the system will import the file and then return the user to the Import Spreadsheet screen where it will display the following confirmation message: "Your spreadsheet has imported successfully."

EXPORT TEMPLATE

  • No longer lists cumm score field
*********Pt Based/Weighted Cat GB **********

Gradebook setup

  • Can I enter in decimals? Yes, 2.
  • If more than 2 decimals are entered, user is presented with appropriate error message: Please enter a number with two or fewer decimal places.
  • Running total reflects accurate available points running. Tested with decimals.
  • Clicking remove by a category, removes the category.
  • If an error is found in the save process, the newer categories & associated errors are not displaying (minor) SAK-10164
  • Roster
  • Grades not released are not in parenthesis
  • items not released have grey background. This is odd as other screens just show grey text. Not very intuitive.
-Scroll bars display even when not appropriate
  • Export GB does not export the filtered view (CHECK W/KRIS on this)
  • Able to view specific categories.
    • Avg Course Grade mades sense when all the items are displayed. However, if you are sorting on category I would expect to also see the avg for that.
      **Note: Test Viewing Sections/groups.
  • Clicking name takes you to Student summary for student. appropriate breadcrumbs appear

GB overview

  • Category avg is not calculating correctly. SAK-10166
  • Course grade avg is
