1.

Select the Tests & Quizzes link

The Test & Quizzes Assessment page will be displayed

2.

Under create a new assessment enter the following text into the Title text box:

• Test 1
• Select the Create button

The Test & Quizzes Question page will be displayed with the following options:

• Add Part (link)
• Settings (link)
• Preview Assessment (link)
• Add Question (drop down list)
• Part 1
• Insert New Question (drop down list)

Select Multiple Choice from the Add Question drop down list

The Modify Question page will be displayed for a Multiple Choice question

4.

Create a Multiple Choice question

• Enter 5 in the Answer Point Value field
• Use the Rich Text fields to enter (1) question and (4) possible answers. Select the radio button next to the correct answer you've given. For example:

  Q: Who was the first US president?
  A. Jefferson
  B. Lincoln
  C. Grant
  D. Washington (correct)
• Select the Save button

The Tests & Quizzes Question page will be displayed with the question you created listed under Part 1 Default: Question 1

5.

Select True False from the Insert New Question drop down list underneath Question 1.

The Modify Question page will be displayed for a True False question

6.

Create a True False question.
Example:
True or false: The sky is blue.

• Enter 5 in the Answer Point Value field
• Select the radio button next to the correct answer (True).
• Select the Save button

The Tests & Quizzes Question page will be displayed with the question you created listed under Part 1 Default: Question 2

Enter one question of each type until all question types have been used at least one time

Select the Settings link

The Tests & Quizzes Settings page will be displayed

Select the Open All Menus link

All menu items will open

9.

Scroll down to the Delivery Dates section

• Use the Calendar pop ups to select dates for this assessment. Enter the following dates:
• Available Date: (Today's date)
• Due Date: (Tomorrows date)
• Retract Date: (Two days from today)
• Scroll up and select the Close All Menus Link

All menu items will close

10.

Select the Grading menu item

The Grading menu item will open

11.

Select the Students' identities can be seen by graders radio button under Students' Identities

• Select the Grading menu item

The Grading menu item will close

12.

Select the Submissions menu item

The Submissions menu item will open

13.

Under Number of Submissions Allowed select the radio button for Only and enter the number 1 into the text box

• Select the Save Settings and Publish button at the bottom of the page

The Publish Assessment Confirmation page will be displayed

Select the Publish button

The Test & Quizzes Assessment page will be displayed with Test 1 showing up in the following categories:

• Core Assessments
• Published Assessments
  o Active (testing in progress)

Select the Test 1 link under Core Assessments

The Questions page for Test 1 will be displayed with the questions you created listed under Part 1 Default

From the Add Question drop down list select Fill in the Blank

The Modify Question page will be displayed for a Fill in the Blank question

Create a Fill in the Blank question

• Enter 5 in the Answer Point Value field
• Use the Rich Text fields to enter the following: The biggest state in the US is [Alaska].
• Select the Save button

The Tests & Quizzes Question page will be displayed with the question you created listed under Part 1 Default: Question 3

18.

Select the Preview Assessment link

The Assessment Preview page will be displayed with the following information:

• Begin Assessment
• Test 1 Information
• Course
• Creator
• Assessment Title
• Time Limit
• Number of submissions allowed
• Feedback
• Due Date

19.

Select the Done button

The Tests & Quizzes Question page will be displayed with the question you created listed under Part 1 Default: Question 3

20.

Select the Refresh Arrows next to the Tests & Quizzes page header

The Test & Quizzes Assessment page will be displayed with Test 1 showing up in the following categories:

• Core Assessments
• Published Assessments
  o Active (testing in progress)
