Login Screen Site Browser Tool Accessibility Walkthrough Script

This walkthrough is for any persona (user has not logged in yet).


Start of Walkthrough Script

Browse to Server and Don't Log In

  • If already logged into any Sakai instances, log out of all of them.
  • Close all web browser windows.
  • Reopen the web browser.
  • Browse to the Sakai server being tested.
  • Make sure Sakai doesn't act as if you are logged in (should be a username and password field displayed for logging in).

Find Tool.

  • Without logging in, use the tools list (accesskey "Alt+l") to activate the "Site Browser" tool.

Read the Tool Content

  • Read the tool's content and describe what you think you the tool allows you to do.

Search for Course Sites

  • Search 1:
    • Use the form to search for a "Course" Site from "Any" academic term that contains the text "Speech".
    • Read aloud the results of the search.
  • Search 2:
    • Use the form to search for a "Project" Site that contains the text "Media".
    • Read aloud the results of the search.
  • Search 3:
    • Use the form to search for "Any" type of site. Leave the "Search for:" text box blank.
    • Read aloud the results of the search. How many sites match?
  • Search 4:
    • Use the form to search for a "Course" Site from "Any" academic term that contains the text "Cats"
    • Read aloud the results of the search. How many sites match?

This section documents how to create the necessary content to perform the above walkthrough script. It is not part of the walkthrough itself. It is expected that a person with the ability to log into the QA server with admin rights will create this content before the walkthrough takes place.

  • Create the following sites so there are sites to search for:
    • A Project site called "Alternative Media Production Group"
    • A Project site called "Continuous Improvement Group"
    • A Class site called "CS 101 BASIC"
    • A Class site called "CS 402 FORTRAN"
    • A Class site called "E 301 Speech"
    • A Class site called "E 302 Debate"
    • A Class site called "T 502 Media Production"
