Agenda

Offer from NYU: They have a number of hours from an accessibility/usability firm, TPG.  Hoping for a list of JIRAs that are representative and could lead to technical recommendations from TPG that could benefit developers.

Talked about some issues with Hans.  Looked at specific example of https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-3131

Wondering about what approaches we can take.  2 ideas:

  1. Generally, what is Sakai's approach on ARIA. There is a list of known issues

    .  We could also benefit from an overall strategy.

  2. Specifically, can we improve Samigo's accessibility: Known could-be-better layout issues.  There are a number of "head scratchers" where the solution is a compromise and expert advice could help (examples SAM-3131: Add hidden text meaning for blank and numeric questionsVerified SAM-2342: extended matching type seems inaccessibleOpen)

Perhaps we can take this to the core team on Tuesday?

 

 

UVa has new samigo quiz timers live in production - work well, except for mobile (don't display correctly on mobile view - must switch to full view on mobile device) - tiffany

accessibility issues remaining at UVa - some of the alerts don't grab focus ( regression or not?)

Show/hide timer does not indicate focus (same in master/legacy)

screen reader can't read timer (same in master/legacy)

 

 

Date Pickers to finally be fixed for Sakai 12.  All will move to Jquery-UI.
